i host my own everything
most people rent their internet life from a handful of companies — i ended up running mine myself. movies and music, game servers for friends, live streams, and now this site, all on one machine in my office. in summer you can hear it from the hallway.
none of this is my job, which is probably why i like it. the mistakes are usually the useful part.
